Born Over a Thousand Cups of Chai
When Raman and Jess were planning their wedding in Atlanta, they had one request that no vendor could fulfill: chai. Real, authentic, freshly brewed Indian chai — the kind that Raman grew up drinking with his family, the kind that makes you feel at home. Despite Atlanta's large and growing South Asian community, not a single mobile chai vendor existed.
So they decided to become one.
Southern Singhs Chai was born from that frustration — and from love. Jess had been making chai for Raman nearly daily, perfecting the balance of ginger, cardamom, and cloves. She saw firsthand how chai brings people together: it's rarely drunk alone. It's shared over conversation, celebration, and connection.
The name Southern Singhs Chai reflects exactly who they are: a Southern couple with deep roots in Sikh heritage, serving something authentic and culturally rich right here in Georgia. "Southern" for where they call home. "Singhs" for family. "Chai" for everything that matters.
"We hope to use our passion of making chai for others as a small way to bring people together."
Today, Southern Singhs Chai serves weddings, corporate events, private parties, and festivals across the greater Atlanta area. You can also find them every Sunday at the Smyrna, GA market — rain or shine.
Every cup is brewed from scratch. Every event is personal. And every sip is a small way of bridging cultures, celebrating community, and sharing something genuinely delicious.
